Chatham

The borough of Chatham boasts a tree-lined, old-fashioned Main Street filled with mom-and-pop shops and popular restaurants. The town is highly walkable, yet provides easy access to Route 78 and a train that takes commuters directly to NYC via the NJ Transit Morristown line. Chatham borough has approximately 9,000 residents, while the adjacent Chatham Township—which shares a school system, library, and recreation programs—has around 10,500 residents. The Chathams’ public school system has, over the years, earned Blue Ribbon School Awards from the United States Department of Education (the highest national award an American school can receive), and the high school has been ranked by New Jersey Monthly as one of the state’s top public high schools. Their Department of Recreation offers a variety of indoor and outdoor recreational and sports activities at various municipal buildings, parks, fields and gyms.
